V Chip: TV Content Controls

Broadcasters Trying To Educate Parents

POSTED: 2:11 pm EDT July 31, 2006

The Ad Council and local broadcasters are mounting an effort to educate parents about their ability to protect children against inappropriate programming.

Public Service Announcements airing on WCVB for the next 18 months will serve as a reminder that parents can actively supervise and monitor their children's television consumption.

The PSAs also direct parents to www.thetvboss.org for additional information about the V-chip and other blocking technology.
