With the launch of WCVB-DT, a new era of television began. As the first station in Boston to broadcast an HDTV signal, WCVB continues its tradition of cutting-edge advances to bring the community closer to major newsmaking events.

To receive WCVB-DT, viewers must have a digital television set or converter and tune to Digital Channel 20.

Channel 5 is proud to be on the vanguard of broadcasting and the first in New England to offer digital broadcasting. Potentially, digital technology will not only enhance the experience of viewing, but also presents exciting opportunities for education.
