Download An Application The interns duties include: Assists assignment editors in gathering news and information. This includes taking and placing telephone calls from reporters, sources and the general public. Assists reporters and photographers in setting up and scheduling interviews and story assignments. Assists reporters and other assignment desk personnel in researching news and feature stories. Files and organizes research materials and news clippings. Performs other duties as assigned by assignment desk personnel.
Students interested in doing an internship on the Assignment Desk are expected to commit at least three, eight-hour days a week or eight hours a day on Saturday and Sunday.
