FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Framingham town officials are trying to figure out who has been dumping butcher-quality cuts of meat on the Town Centre common and why.
VideoAt least once a week for the past couple of weeks, someone has been placing the meat there, near Edgell Road.
The most recent deposit consisted of what appeared to be a liver and some bones. The Metrowest Daily News reported that police are sending the meat to the state lab for testing. Residents walking their dogs through the common are concerned that the meat may be poisoned to harm animals."It is unusual and we want to make sure we rule out any possibilities that this was something more nefarious or indicative of something more dangerous than just a dumping of meat," Ethan Mascoop, of Framingham Public Health, said. The town board of health is also on the case of the mystery meat. Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call at 508-872-1212.
