POSTED: 6:08 pm EDT October 22, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that they have hired Jackie Moore as bench coach and Dave Anderson as third base coach.

Anderson, the Rangers' field coordinator in 2008, will also head up infield defense for Texas. Anderson is entering his third year in the Rangers organization. He served as their manager at Double-A Frisco in 2007.

Moore served as bench coach for the Houston Astros in 2008 after eight years of managing the minor league Round Rock Express, a team owned by Rangers club president Nolan Ryan. This will be Moore's fourth tour of duty as a coach for the Rangers. He has also served on Texas' coaching staff in 1973-76, 1980 and 1993-94.
