An avid gardener, Epstein has a love for the hobby and is sharing his knowledge with Channel 5 viewers.

Epstein joined WCVB-TV as a fill-in meteorologist for WCVB-TV in 1992.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Epstein received an AB in Biology from Colby College and a Masters Degree in Counseling/Psychology, as well as an MBA, from Boston College. He received his training in meteorology at Lyndon State College in Vermont. Epstein's work was published in Grolier's Science Annual from 1990 through 2000.

In addition to his work in meteorology, Epstein has been a Vice President for First Call, a division of Thompson Financial Services, and a fundraiser for The New England Aquarium. He also volunteers as a Jewish Big Brother and has participated in the AIDS fundraiser Monster Challenge with Channel 5 colleagues Ed Harding and Jeff Larson in 2002 and 2003.
